Salaam-E-Ishq is a 2010 romantic comedy Hindi movie. The release date of the film is April 29, 2010. It was directed by Mansoor Khan and produced by Khan's father Nasir Hussain.[1] The film is the remake of 1981 Pakistani film "Arman", starring Rani and Nadeem in lead roles with Parikshit Sahni in a guest appearance. The story of this movie revolves around three couples who are friends, their lives, marriages and relationships. The movie is all about, love, emotions and romance. The movie was released on 29 April 2010. The official website of the movie was launched and made available to download and share the songs with the public by 26 April 2010.[2] The film had a low-key release in India as most of the promotions were carried out in Pakistan. On 25 August 2009, it was reported that the film had completed shooting six months earlier than its original schedule.[3] The satellite rights of the film were sold to STAR India for ₹ .25 crore (US$48,000). The film was released on 29 April 2010 along with the other Mansoor Khan film of the year, "Kisna". The soundtrack for Salaam-e-Ishq is composed by the famous R&B star Akhtar Channal, who had earlier given music to many Bollywood blockbusters like Sur - The Melody Of Life, Akele Hum Akele Tum and Dhadkan. The lyrics are penned by Ehsan Amanat Ali Khan.The film was declared an average grosser at Box office India.[4] It has collected ₹5 million (US$97,000) nett in its first week running in theatres. The film received mixed to positive reviews from the critics. Nikhat Kazmi, writing for The Times of India rated the film 2/5 stars calling it "a masocore tour de force that doesn't appeal to the mass" and that "mating looks like more like slaughtering". The film holds a rating of 54% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 9 reviews; while Metacritic, giving it a weighted average score of 52 out of 100, describes it as "mixed or average reviews."[5] The Film fare (India) website gave it 2 out of 5 and called it an "average attempt", with two stars being given to Khushboo's performance. The film was remade in Kannada as Snehageetha. In 2015, a Pakistani drama serial "Salaam-e-Ishq" was aired by Hum TV. The serial is directed by Haseeb Hasan and stars Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan in the lead roles.[6] It was a huge success on Hum TV.
